Kate Middleton as popular as Diana
LONDON, April 22 (UPI) -- Kate Middleton is as popular among the British public as the late Princess Diana, mother of her fiance, Prince William, a poll indicates.
A CBS News poll conducted by U.K. online polling company YouGov released Friday showed 66 percent of those Britons surveyed view Middleton and Diana equally favorably.
William and his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, were the most popular members of the Royal Family among those Britons polled, with favorability ratings of 81 percent and 80 percent, respectively.
Prince Harry was ranked the third-most popular member of the royals among Britons with 70 percent of respondents saying they held positive views of him.
Only 46 percent of respondents say they view William's father, Prince Charles, favorably, and Charles' wife Camilla received a 25 percent favorability rating, the poll shows.
The poll indicated 70 percent of Britons approve of William proposing to Kate with Diana's engagement ring.
YouGov conducted the online poll April 18-19 among 2,431 British adults with a margin of error of 3 percentage points.
