Two Seattle errors led to two unearned runs, helping the Indians win their third straight. The Mariners have lost three in a row.

Cleveland had a pair of four-run innings, with Hafner producing an RBI during both of them. His groundout in the first delivered Jason Kipnis from third and the Indians also scored runs in the inning on a passed ball and two throwing errors.

The Indians broke things open with a four-run fourth, an inning that included three doubles. One of them came from Hafner and brought home Kipnis with the second run of the frame.

Hafner added a solo homer in the sixth.

Ubaldo Jimenez (4-3) was the beneficiary of the outburst, getting the win by holding the Mariners to three runs on five hits in six innings.

Felix Hernandez (3-3) was charged with eight runs, six of them earned, on 10 hits in 3 2/3 innings. He has lost two straight starts, during which he has allowed 21 hits.

CHICAGO, May 16 (UPI) -- Illinois officials have filed a lawsuit they say would level the playing field for disabled high school athletes by allowing them to compete in statewide meets.

State Attorney General Lisa Madigan filed suit Wednesday on behalf of Mary Kay Callahan, against the Illinois High School Association. Madigan said disabled students should be allowed to compete in areas not affected by their physical limitations.

Callahan, a student at Fenwick High School, where she is a member of the swim team, argues that although she does not have the use of her legs she can compete in track and field events like discus and shot put, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

"I have full function of my upper body," Callahan said. "I can get in and out of the pool myself. I can't kick; that's the only limitation I have."

IHSA responded to initial complaints from Callahan, her school and the Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association by filing its own lawsuit in April.

"We said, we don't believe we're in violation of any law with respect to these issues," Executive Director Marty Hickman said. "Their response, almost to the word, was, 'We won't talk about the law.' We weren't looking to turn this into a fight. We filed for a declaratory judgment asking the court to tell us what our obligations are. We're perplexed by this filing."

WASHINGTON, May 16 (UPI) -- Adam LaRoche drove in four runs with a solo homer and a bases-loaded double Wednesday, carrying the Washington Nationals past Pittsburgh 7-4.

The Nationals made the most of their seven hits to back up a 10-strikeout effort by Gio Gonzalez.

LaRoche's sixth-inning homer, one of three solo shots by the Nationals, gave Washington a 3-1 lead. Ian Desmond hit a solo home run in the third and Xavier Nady added another in the sixth.

Washington's lead was only 4-3 in the seventh, but the Nationals loaded the bases when Jesus Flores was hit by a pitch and both Bryce Harper and Ryan Zimmerman drew two-out walks.

LaRoche cleared the bases by hitting reliever Evan Meek's first pitch to right for a double.

Gonzalez (5-1) gave up three runs on four hits over seven innings. Henry Rodriguez struck out one in a perfect ninth for his ninth save.

Erik Bedard (2-5) took the loss, surrendering four runs on six hits in six innings with seven strikeouts.

Created in 2007 by actor Will Ferrell, writer/director Adam McKay and writer Chris Henchy, the Web site is a popular destination for scripted original comedy video clips.

"While we are incredibly excited about how this partnership will catalyze our growth and make Funny or Die an even better place for comedic talent, we are even more excited about the opportunities this will open up to brands and advertisers to create far-reaching, hilariously funny cross-platform content and messaging," Dick Glover, president and chief executive officer of Funny or Die, said in a statement. "TBS, Adult Swim, Turner Digital Sales and the rest of the Turner organization are a fantastic fit with us in all ways. Plus, we are instantly gaining an even larger sales staff, something it would take us years to develop. This is very cool."

"We're thrilled by our acquisition of Turner," joked McKay. "We're now taking a long hard look at Viacom. These are heady days over here at Funny or Die."

WASHINGTON, May 16 (UPI) -- Illinois, Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota, Tennessee and Washington made efforts to implement healthcare reform, the secretary of Health and Human Services said.

Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said the states would receive more than $181 million in grants to help implement the Affordable Care Act and establish Affordable Insurance Exchanges.

"Starting in 2014, Affordable Insurance Exchanges will help consumers and small businesses in every state to choose a private health insurance plan. These comprehensive health plans will ensure consumers have the same kinds of insurance choices as members of Congress," Sebelius said in a statement. "Including today's awards, 34 states and the District of Columbia have received grants to fund their progress toward building exchanges."

States can apply for exchange grants through the end of 2014 and these funds are available for states to use beyond 2014 as they further establish exchange functionality, Sebelius said.

In 2010, 49 states and the District of Columbia received exchange planning grants totaling more than $54 million; in 2011, seven states received more than $249 million in early innovator grants; and to date, 34 states and the District of Columbia have received more than $856 million in establishment grants, Sebelius said.
